Welcome to Gilbert Elementary's web site.

Principal's Message

Welcome to Gilbert Elementary from the principal ! This month we are celebrating Autism Awareness month. Our elementary school is the hub for students diagnosed with Autism. We have several ongoing activities this month. For more information about this contact Joan Kirk @ kirk.j@yakimaschools.org.

We will be expanding our mileage club Wednesdays to include a day for Jog Across America. This happens April 25th at lunch. Students and families are encouraged to join PTA and run for a half hour during their lunch recess. There will be prizes awarded for class and individual success! We are taking pledges for the Jog and donations go to support the PTA and their projects that make Gilbert a fun school for families.

MSP testing begins April 25th ! Keep your third ,fourth and fifth graders in academic shape with a great night of rest and a super start with a good protein filled breakfast each day. Thanks for helping them "show what they know " !

Thanks for visiting our website ! Make it a great day , or not ...the choice is yours !

APRIL 25 PTA JOG-A-THON AT NOON!

Camp DudleyLogo

Dear CampFamilies,

Our 2012 camp registration is open, hurry in reserve your camper's spot today!  Our staff is coming together nicely and I can't wait to get summer underway.
I've spent several hours at both the
YakimaMuseum and the Library perusing through articles about both CampDudley and the YMCA.  It is exciting to come across photos of kids in action and it is surprising how close the camp experience is to photos taken decades ago.  The acts of getting outdoors, interacting with new friends, developing self-confidence and independence are just as important today as they were 75 years ago when CampDudley began.  We hope that you'll be joining us this summer for camp and a celebration of our incredible history!

Blessings,

Matt

Fundraisers:
There is still time to jump into our first 2012 Fundraiser session which runs through April 20th.  Both TreeTop 100% juice and Otis Spunkmeyer frozen cookie dough products are available to earn your way to camp.  Families can choose to sell one or both items.  Stop in at the YMCA today to pick up your sales packet.  Forty percent of your total sales will be directly applied to your
CampDudley or Day Camp stay.  Our second session will be May 28 - June 8th.  Get your camper out fundraising for their camp experience and help share with the community why a week of camp is important.
