Message from Mr. Brownlow As the principal of Nob Hill Elementary, I take great pride in serving as the Principal for our students, staff, and families. Our school consists of very dedicated, caring individuals striving hard to meet the academic, social, emotional, and physiological needs of all students. Furthermore, we are striving to realize the following goals this year:
Reading: 90% of all students at Nob Hill Elementary will move up one level by the spring DIBELS assessment for the school year 2009-10; intensive to strategic, strategic to benchmark, benchmark or above benchmark. - - 80% of 5th graders will meet or exceed standard on the 09-10 reading Measurement of Student Progress (MSP). - - 80% of 4th graders will meet or exceed standard on the 09-10 reading MSP. - - 75% of 3rd graders will meet or exceed standard on the 09-10 reading MSP. Math: 50% of 5th graders will meet or exceed standard on the 09-10 math MSP. - - 60% of 4th graders will meet or exceed standard on the 09-10 math MSP. - - 60% of 3rd graders will meet or exceed standard on the 09-10 math MSP. Writing: 60% of 4th graders will meet or exceed standard on the 09-10 writing MSP. Science: 40% of 5th graders will meet or exceed standard on the 09-10 science MSP. Attendance: Nob Hill will have a less than 1% unexcused % for the 2009-10 school year. Nob Hill will decrease the overall amount of absences from 08-09 to 09-10. Volunteer Effort: Nob Hill will increase the amount number of volunteers from the first semester of the 09-10 school year to the second semester of the 09-10 school year. Data will be provided by classroom teachers.

Character Word of the Month - TOLERANCE TOLERANCE - Tolerance is being able to accept things that you wish were different. When you practice tolerance, you have flexibility. You don't expect others to be just like you. TOLERANCIA - Tolerancia es ser capaz de aceptar cosas que uno hubiera deseado que fueran diferentes. Cuando uno practica la tolerancia, uno tiene flexibilidad. Uno no espera que otros sean igual que uno.
