Character Word of the Month - RESPONSIBILITY  

Responsibility - Being responsible means that others can depend on you. It is doing something well and to the best of your ability.

Responsabilidad - Ser responsable significa que los otros pueden depender de uno. Es hacer algo bueno a lo mejor de tus habilidades.

Examples of Responsibility in action:

1.   Take my agreements seriously  Tomo mis promesas seriamente.

2.   Respond ably by doing things to the best of my ability  Respondo haciendo las cosas a lo mejor de mis habilidades.

3.   Focus on my own part, not someone else's  Me enfoco en mis cosas y no en las de los demás.

4.   Am willing to accept credit and correction  Estoy dispuesto a aceptar crédito y a que me corrijan.

5.   Admit my mistakes  Admito mis errores.

6. Am ready and willing to clear up misunderstandings  Estoy listo y dispuesto a aclarar malas interpretaciones.

Message from Mr. Brownlow  

Greetings Nob Hill Community!  It seems so appropriate to reflect on our school's recent Veterans Day program held in our gym on 11-10-09.  The event was planned to celebrate and honor our local veterans and those beyond our local community.  I was extremely proud of the effort that took place at our school starting with the student involvement of songs and skits, Mr. Petersen's patriotic explanation of Veterans Day, Mrs. Kaluzny's slide show, and the part where the students introduced the guests they brought with them.  Many of the guests are veterans of the military while some are still active.  Moreover, the event was highlighted by one of our very own parents, Mr. Jerrid Barber, who spoke of his recent tour with the army to Iraq. Mr. Barber issued a challenge to our students in his closing remarks when he asked them to always appoach veterans with a thankful heart.  Our students need to understand the importance of such gestures to prevent them from taking our nation's veterans for granted.  I believe that every part of the assembly helped us move closer to accomplishing that objective.  Way to REACH for excellence Nob Hill!
