Principal's Message
Welcome Back! We are so happy to see all of our students and parents back after the Winter Break. The new year is off to a fast start with many exciting events and milestones coming quickly. January marks a month of many very important tests that will tell us how well each child is progressing. It is crucial that children be in school on time every day. If at all possible, please schedule medical and dental appointments after the school day. Students are harmed by not being in school for the full day.
Our PTA has come a long way from organizing last fall to being a viable support group for McKinley School. Please join the team and participate with the PTA. The next regular meeting is Tuesday, January 10th at 6:30 PM. Please join us in the school library.
¡Bienvenidos de nuevo! Estamos muy felices de ver a todos nuestros estudiantes y padres después de las vacaciones de invierno. El año nuevo ha iniciado con muchos eventos emocionantes y las metas llegan rápidamente. Enero es un mes con muchas evaluaciones importantes que nos dirán como va progresando cada niño. Es muy importante que los niños vengan a la escuela puntualmente cada día. Si es posible, por favor hagan las citas médicas y dentales después de horas de clase. Los estudiantes pierden instrucción importante cuando no están el día completo en la escuela.
Nuestra PTA ha logrado un gran progreso desde organizarse en el otoño pasado a ser un grupo de apoyo para la escuela McKinley. Por favor únanse al equipo y participen con la PTA. La próxima junta regular es el martes 10 de enero a las 6:30 p.m. Acompáñennos en la biblioteca de la escuela.

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program: McKinley has been chosen to be one of the Yakima School District schools to participate in a program to introduce new fruits and vegetables to students. Each day, each classroom will receive a bowl of fruit or veggies for students to try. Following is a list of what will be available this week. Website links will provide additional information about the selection for that day. Please ask your children what new foods they tried at school each day.
